Cruise passengers come and go, dock workers clock in and head home, the tide rises and falls, but for decades, Anthony’s Restaurants has been a steadfast presence along the Seattle waterfront.

Fittingly, Anthony’s at Pier 66 will be front and center at Winter by the Water (WBTW), a new festival on Saturday, Feb. 21 that will celebrate the bustling community, fog or downpour, with exclusive tastings, activities, and pop-ups for everyone to enjoy.

At Pier 66, Bell Street Diner and Fish Bar will be go-to stops to not only pick up WBTW passport stamps, but to get out of the cold and warm up with lunch. With the purchase of a regular entree, families can enjoy a free kids meal.

Outside at the pop-up oyster bar, chefs will shuck oysters to order, preparing them on the half shell with your choice of toppings, sauces and other accoutrements. If you feel your seafood eating skills are su-pearl-ative, and you want to make a name for yourself as a local shell-ebrity, then we suggest you step right up to Anthony’s famous Oyster Slurp.

The format is simple. Anthony’s will take the first 10 people to sign up day of at Fish Bar and put them in front of a cheering crowd, where they will then race to slurp 12 oysters as fast as possible, all while their hands are tied behind their backs.

Besides bragging rights, the winner will receive dinner for two at Anthony’s Pier 66. Whether you want to join the fun (some might call it insanity) as a participant or simply cheer your heart out, make sure you’re at Anthony’s about an hour before the WBTW finale concert, featuring Smokey Brights and The Talbott Brothers.
