We are less than two weeks out from Mother’s Day. If you’re a partner sweating about making plans (or perhaps you’re a mom trying to drop a hint), brunch can be a memorable way to make your loved ones feel special. While pancakes and mimosas are always a good start, every mom is different — so we’ve got three options for arranging her ideal day.
Does your mom like trips to the berry bar?
At any of Portage Bay’s five locations around Seattle, you’ll find menu items like the signature lemon ricotta pancakes or bananas foster french toast, which are delicious in their own right, but the included trip to the berry bar certainly sweetens the deal. Load up on blueberries, strawberries, and other fruit, slathering the whipped cream to your heart’s content. Savory dishes like huevos rancheros and a breakfast sandwich made with bacon, gouda, and fig-jam are also favorites.
Does your mom like seafaring adventures?
Hop on the Bainbridge Island ferry and head to Doc’s Marina and Grill for the Mother’s Day buffet. Not only will you find a prime rib carving station, there will be eggs benedict, an omelet station, country potatoes and even the “oh-so-good” clam chowder. Waterfront ambience on the deck sets a relaxed tone, so mom can shut off the stress and focus on the moment.

Does your mom like bejeweled acrobatics?
Dreamland Diner in Fremont hosts two incredible Saturday drag shows out on the patio, featuring the dazzling Dream Girls. Wrangle mom and get ready to throw singles up on stage for the performers (don’t worry, you can break larger bills on site). It’s best to show up a bit early (doors open 45 minutes prior) to make sure “your food and libation needs are fulfilled” with the aptly named plates like Thighs and Fries or a Hot Lil Biscuit.
Does your mom like waterfront views?
At many of the Anthony’s Restaurants locations, you’ll find just that, whether you’re looking out over Lake Washington from HomePort Kirkland or hearing the roar from the deck at Anthony’s at Spokane Falls. Mother’s Day brunch offerings vary, but you can expect Northwest flavors galore and plates like the San Juan scramble or creme brulee French toast.
