Picture the instant calm that comes with your first sip of wine after a long workday — now imagine stepping into a hotel designed entirely around that blissful feeling.

Woodinville’s new The SOMM Hotel & Spa, opening Sunday, Sept. 28, hopes to craft a delicious and relaxing experience that showcases the best Washington has to offer through expertly crafted cuisine, luxurious amenities and opportunities for guests to even blend their own wine.

While Woodinville is no stranger to having its taste buds tickled, The SOMM comes with its own brand of excitement with its signature restaurant Bin 47 and rooftop bar The Shed, both led by critically acclaimed Executive Chef Maximillian Patty. Both will highlight local fare, while The Shed reaches over to pick its own roof-grown ingredients for small plates.

However, the hallmark of The SOMM’s culinary offerings lie in its wine blending rooms, the first and only dedicated space for the public to create a bottle catered to their specific palate. These classes are complimentary and allow each guest to leave with a little something special.

But if the wine blending isn’t quite enough, as part of Woodinville’s new 20-acre Harvest development, the SOMM sits just steps from more than 100 tasting rooms and nature trails.

For those who find themselves utterly exhausted by all the fine Woodinville flavors, the SOMM’s Vin de Spa has a plethora of treatments to help you rest up. Services cover a variety of facials, massages, body wraps, and body scrubs that use ingredients like grapes and coffee to exfoliate and hydrate the skin. The spa’s Cab & Coco Body wrap is also quite attention-grabbing with its promise of an antioxidant-packed chocolate truffle body wrap coupled with curated cabernet sips.

But no worries if you can’t fit in a whole treatment into your stay — each of the hotel’s 164 rooms is designed to extend those experiences with soaking tubs and large showers, soft bedding and a digital “do not disturb” touchpad instead of the traditional signage. Each guest floor also features a hydration station with sparkling and still water.

The SOMM also comes with 16,000 square feet of event space — 5,000 of which is outdoors — made up of ballrooms, a covered patio, and meeting rooms for any special occasion.

Rooms are available for booking with rates beginning around $300 per night.
